Description of Program:

The Zia Family Focus Center was started in 1991 as a joint effort by the Junior League of Albuquerque, our Community Board of Directors, and Albuquerque Public Schools.

The program offers affordable enrichment classes and scholarships for children and adults such as cooking, karate, yoga, indoor soccer, ballet, jazz, guitar, art, basketball, spanish, ESL and more. The enrichment classes offered at the FFC are taught by a variety of qualify instructors some who have been with us for 15 years.

We believe that "family" means more than just the home.
It extends to friends, neighbors, businesses, and institutions that work together to create a positive place to live.

Come visit us. Los esperamos!

Any other supports or services provided:

Staff is bilingual and bicultural. We assist individual families if they request financial aid. We trade volunteer hours for student participation, and are open to any creative and possible way to reach out to all members of the community.

Our classes welcome parent participation, meaning they too can take the class with child. Drop-ins are welcome. Our program provides a Parent Night Out once a month. The ZFFC staff keeps a close relationship with child and families. Communication and caring is always practiced.

Additional Information:

If the students are from another school, the parents drive them or some may walk if home schooled.

Please like us on Facebook, check our web, come to our open to the public board meetings or just come by to say hello. We are proud to be part of the community for 20 years and thank everyone's support, especially APS.
