NM Public Education Department grant provides quality afterschool offerings to Eubank Elementary students.

Through a recent grant award from New Mexico Public Education Department, Eubank Elementary is providing quality afterschool offerings to its students this semester. The goal of the grant is to promote and support critical thinking and collaborative techniques that allow students to successfully develop academic skills, pursue useful knowledge and help prevent obesity.

The STEAM Ahead Afterschool Program is complementing to the Eubank’s Fine Arts approach by implementing the following four (4) components:

Eubank ES PED Grant
  1. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
  2. Fine Arts (music, dance, reader’s theater, studio art, etc.)
  3. Academic Enrichment,
  4. Physical Activity and Nutrition Education

Partnerships with Youth Development Inc. and the NM Jazz Workshop have garnered expertise in each of these areas and leveraged various resources and community connections.  An important collaboration has led to a portion of the services to be held at Singing Arrow Community Center.

You are invited!

The after school program will hold a Student Showcase where program participants will present and perform what they have learned during the last few months.  This celebration will be held on May 11 from 5:30 – 6:30 at Eubank Elementary School. Eubank Elementary is located at 9717 Indian School Road NE (map).
