The APS Before and After School Programs hosted their 2nd annual Level Up After School Conference on Saturday, March 21. Over 80 members of the after school community from around the state, ranging from site directors to activity leaders, attended the conference to develop and share their knowledge and expertise of the after school field. This conference also gave attendees the chance to network with staff from different after school organizations

Conference attendees had their choice of breakout sessions to attend, which included such topics as: youth engagement, lesson planning techniques, suicide prevention, and community collaborations. The conference keynote speaker was Jeanne Forrester, Ed.D, manager of Student Wellness within the Student, Family, and Community Supports Division of Albuquerque Public Schools. She spoke about creating mindful connections between the many aspects of after school programming, and engaged participants in activities to help them make these connections in their own after school programs.
