APS Marching Bands to Compete in Pageant 2012

Eleven Albuquerque Public Schools marching bands will compete in the 33rd annual New Mexico Pageant of Bands on Saturday, October 6th at Wilson Stadium.  The event begins at 8:15am with the Presentation of Colors by Del Norte High School and the singing of the National Anthem by Sandia High School.

The high school bands will compete against those of comparable size, beginning with the smaller in 1A through the larger bands in 5A.  Twenty-three bands from across the state will take part in the competition, which began in 1980 to provide a competition displaying the musical and marching skills of New Mexico's finest.  In its 33 years, the Pageant of Bands has grown and become a traveling favorite for out of town bands as well.

The schedule for APS high school bands is as follows:

Admission for the event is $8 for Adults, $6 for students and seniors, Free for children under 5.
