The Multiple Disabilities (MD) Unit provides technical support and assistance to Intensive Support Programs throughout the District (twenty-one school sites for the 2005-2006 school year). Our team is responsible for coordination of services for students through Homebound (Special Education) and Home Hospital (Regular Education). We serve students that for a variety of reasons can not access their public education within the setting of a traditional school. The unit also co-chairs case reviews for the Traumatic Brain Injury programs located at Inez Elementary School, Grant Middle School and Del Norte High School. Other functions of the MD unit are to assist with the appropriate placement of students with Multiple Disabilities, coordinate needed related services, and provide technical assistance and support to the students and their families.
