Carolyn Snyder-Sain received the Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year award from the New Mexico Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. It is the state organization that is affiliated with the national organization, the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance is an alliance of national organizations and district associations as well as a Research Consortium whose purpose is to promote better well being through physical activity and health education.
Carolyn began teaching Adapted Physical Education in 1982 soon after she received her Master's degree from Indiana University. She has taught as an itinerant teacher at various schools throughout APS since then except for two years when she was working on her doctorate at IU. She has been an APE liaison for about ten years mentoring and providing support to new APE teachers.
