Reviewed and approved.

Principal's Report

George Jackson

1st grade teacher has been hired, approved and is expected to start at the end of November.  This makes 3.5 positions that Petroglyph has added in the current school year.  Looking towards next year, APS is looking at providing full-day kindergarten.  They will most likely offer both full-day and half-day options.

Join-A-School Program

Tony Chavez

Denise Giannopoulos has volunteered as a coordinator for our Join-A-School program.  We are looking for more volunteers to assist.  The optimal structure would be to have grade level representatives.  Anyone interested in assisting, please see Denise.

Vice President's Report

Kim Cabanas

Cherrydale Farms has raised a total slightly over $30,000.  Petroglyph will receive 40.0% of the total, or $12,000 of the current total.  We are expecting more orders to come in the next two weeks, raising the totals.  PTA budgeted $10,725 for this event.

Discussions were held regarding the Parent’s Night Out events.  PTA Executive Committee recommended that the event partner the PTA with grade level teachers each month.  PTA would coordinate the event and the grade level teachers would coordinate staffing and operations.  Proceeds would be split 75.0% to grade level and 25.0% to PTA.  All in attendance agreed. 5th grade would be held 11/21.

Treasurer's Report

Traci Cadigan

Reports were reviewed.  YTD, Petroglyph PTA has a $814.50 shortfall.  Cherrydale Farms fundraiser is expected to cover the shortfall by next month.
