General
PTA Meeting ---
Meeting was called to order by President, Cindy Davis
Mr. Jackson gave an explanation about the District Standards testing. He gave his opinion about testing mid year VS the beginning of the year, and then again testing at the end of the year. Standards are being posted in each classroom by the doors so that any one can read what the standards for that particular grade level is.
Minutes from the December meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer report: We have $21,469.35 in our account.
Old business: We are still waiting to have our kiln looked at to see if it can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced. We will need to contact Sarita, our art teacher, about possibly purchasing a used kiln. We will also ask Mary Lou Kokaly’s advice, as she has used this kiln for many years.
New business: We have a request from Ms Behar and Ms Smith to help in the funding for prizes for the supervised activities that they help with. Motion was made and passed to allocate $100.00 for our Conflict Mediation, which organizes recess activities for our students.
Future events:
Bookfair volunteers will help students in the bookfair, Kathy Cole is our coordinator.
Jog-A-Thon volunteers will help colleting prizes from business’s and/or keeping track of laps run by students. Amy Keller is able to help, but we do need a coordinator for this event.
Future possibilities: A suggestion was made that we possibly sell pre-packaged school supplies in the fall to help out with busy schedules for all of our families. Cindy has received information from some companies and will turn this information over to Tracy Cadigan, who is willing to do some research on the matter.
Meeting was adjourned.
Our next PTA meeting is
