The staff and I enjoyed seeing you at Curriculum Night held last week in your child’s classroom.  It is always such an important opportunity to learn about the programs, expectations and standards that drive daily instruction.  It is no surprise that Oñate continues to meet AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) due to the hard work and dedication of the staff and students in all our classrooms.

 While there are successes to celebrate there are still abundant opportunities for improving instruction, and the Oñate staff is already busy at work planning and implementing goals and objectives for the 2008-2009 school year.  The school’s EPSS (Educational Plan for Student Success) is being updated to reflect current progress and data.

You are an important part of your child’s education.  Take time to review agendas, daily notes, class work and homework with your child.  Make sure that your child arrives at school on time and remains at school the whole day.  Every minute is critical.

The current Oñate Parent Handbook is on the Oñate website.  Please read it over with your child to familiarize yourselves with policies and procedures.  If you do not have access to the website and you would like a hard copy please let the office know.  We are trying to limit our paper use as much as possible.  Thank you for your support and assistance in this matter.
