New Mexico students are required to have 181 days of instruction each school year. This equates to 996 hours of instruction for grades K-5 (excluding 30 minutes for lunch but including 30 minutes for recess each day). The hours of instructional time each school offers in its schedule and calendar are reviewed each year by the Public Education Department of the State of New Mexico. Mitchell consistently meets these requirements.

NOTE: Grounds supervision begins at 8:45 AM each day. Please plan for your student(s) to arrive at school no earlier than 8:45 AM unless they are eating breakfast in the cafeteria at 8:30 AM. Students on campus prior to 8:45 AM must be accompanied by an adult and cannot be in the patio area.
