THE LAND OF ENCHANTMENT CLUB 2008-2009

New Mexico's children's book choice award is the Land of Enchantment Award.  It is sponsored by the New Mexico Library Association and the New Mexico Reading Association.  This year ten books with a wide range of style, setting and appeal were nominated for the award. Students who have read or have had three or more books read to them are eligible to vote for their favorite book in April.  I will read three of the ten books to the students during library lesson (starred below).
     Your child is invited to participate in the Marie Hughes Land of Enchantment Club. The purpose of this program is to encourage quality reading.  Membership begins when students have read or listened to six books. Students who have read all ten books will become members of the Marie Hughes Land of Enchantment Hall of Fame.
     This program will continue for the entire school year.  Students must complete a quiz to verify each book they have read.  We have copies of the titles below in the school library for checkout.  Additional copies are available at the public library.
