HEALTH AND SAFETY

For the health and safety of children, encourage them to wash their hands before eating and after using the bathroom.  All students need to wash their hands before lunch.  If the restrooms do not have soap, please see the custodian or ask the Principal for help.  Research has shown that hand washing helps to cut down on the common cold.

Store matches and/or science materials that might cause injury away from student reach.  Keep foods used for cooking activities in proper containers.

If a student is injured, please call for the nurse.  Do not attempt to move a child that may have a neck or head injury.

Document student injury and treatment if you are treating the incident.

NURSE & HEALTH ASSISTANT

We receive daily services from a health assistant.  A registered nurse will be on our campus 2 1/2 days a week to provide support to staff and students. Use a written pass when sending children to the nurse’s office.  Detail the reason the child is being sent to the nurse.  If you have health concerns regarding a student, please talk to the nurse for help and advice.
