Lavaland classrooms have 2-3 computers at the present time. Each classroom has been wired to the computer network. This gives the students and teachers the ability to access the world wide web. Classrooms will be provided with more computers as funds become available. Computer classes are available for all staff on an on-going basis. Lavaland has two computer labs available for use by classrooms. The Title 1 lab maintains a regular schedule. The Title 1 teacher and assistant will assist the classroom teacher in developing a lesson plan for the class sessions. The Media Center computer lab is scheduled by the classroom teachers. Classroom teachers can sign up for the lab for a month at a time. This enables teachers to schedule blocks of time for projects or the same time weekly. The schedule is on the door to the computer lab. The teacher is expected to lead the class and is responsible for lab cleanup.
