GIFTED EDUCATION
Albuquerque Public Schools provides services
to students and their families aimed at maximizing the abilities and potential
of all students identified as gifted.
APS offers the following programs for gifted
students:

Consultation and monitoring of curriculum
and learning opportunities in the general education classroom.

Curriculum expansion through an academic enrichment
resource room, pull-out model.

Content-based education (i.e. language arts,
humanities, math and/or science) usually provided at the middle school
level.

Elective course offerings, mentorship and/or
internship at the high school level.

Programs for highly gifted students that range
half to whole day at the elementary level.
-
Academic acceleration provided through alternative
placements for part of the school day.

Specialized services for students identified
as having a gifted eligibility as well as a disability.
