Homework:  Weekly homework will be fairly consistent, including one short homework assignment to be entered into the agenda every Monday and due each Thursday.  Assignments will vary between vocabulary list, mapping activities, current event assignments, an short paragraph written response.  Occasionally we will have extended projects with homework assignments as part of the project.  Some rare occasions that may eliminate a weekly homework assignment include a short week due to a holiday, a unit test that needs study time,  and school testing weeks.

Homework Passes:  I will give students one homework pass each nine weeks.  These passes allow students one extra day to complete a homework assignment. Assignments will not be accepted more than one day late unless a child is ill or has a personal emergency.  Homework passes may be used on weekly homework only, not on projects.

Tests:  At the conclusion of studying each of he topics listed above, a unit test will be administered.  I will take a few days preceeding each test to review the information with the students and facilitate the development of a study guide.

Projects:  Projects or research papers will be assigned at various times throughout the year.  A clear list of expectations and requirements will be given at least two weeks prior to each project’s due date.  Projects will be done mostly in class, but occasional homework time may be used.  Projects will not be accepted more than three days late unless a personal emergency/illness (excused absences) have been discussed by with the teacher. Late projects will be marked down 10% a day.

Supplies:  Please bring to class one three subject notebook, one pocket folder, school agenda, and writing implements every day.
