In 1998 the Comanche family (parents and staff) joined together to network the main building of the school. All across America, schools have taken the initiative to network their own labs, libraries, classrooms, and offices so that all students would have access to the World Wide Web and to e-mail and communication within schools.  Little did we know when we started out what a difference it would make to the learning environment of our school.

We could not have done this without the help of
Network New Mexico!

And many, many people did volunteer!  We had over 60 volunteers!	We spent a lot of the day up in the ceiling!
We listened carefully to learn what to do.	Hmmm.... How does this work again? (We learned how to terminate the Cat 5 cable.)
Hungry workers enjoyed great food donated by neighboring businesses!	These guys really knew what they were doing!
We even installed the drop boxes so that the computers were ready to plug in!	The cable made it to this room, too!
We tested the connection and it worked!!	We'll look impressive on T.V.!

Net Day 2000

In the year 2000, we were ready to network the rest of our school.
We worked hard to send fiber optic cable to our portable classrooms, and our new
Cafetorium.

There were Comanche family members working everywhere!	Pulling cable!

And now...thanks to our N.M. State Legislature and all of you...and thanks to our own hard work, we have networked computers in all of our classrooms!  And we have students and staff who are benefiting daily from the process of integrating technology into our curriculum!  We have implemented Technology Standards, and one of the many focuses of Comanche Elementary's curriculum is Computer Literacy.
