Discipline Policy
Third Grade

Behavior Expectations

1. Follow all school rules.
2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
3. Be respectful of all people and property.
4. Use a quiet voice inside all school buildings.
 

Positive Reinforcement for Following Class Rules

Praise, positive notes and calls home, special privileges, stickers, stamps on hands, class rewards for cooperative group efforts.

Discipline Plan

Use of a colored card system with the following consequences for not following rules:

1. Warning:  flip white card to red “W”
2. Flip red card to yellow:  5 minutes time-out during recess and write in behavior log.
3. Flip yellow card to orange:  10 minutes time-out during recess and write in behavior log.
4.  Flip orange card to red:  miss recess and write note to parents.
5. Flip red card to purple:  School behavior report and student will call parents.
 

Severe Clause

Immediate school behavior report or harming another student.  Intervention by principal or counselor at teacher’s request.
 

Each day is a new beginning!  All cards are white when the children arrive to start the day!
