BIO-RIDDLE
Born on a farm in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

I received art lessons at home.
Soon I was recognized for my abilities.
Eventually I became a famous woman artist.
When preparing to become an artist,
I attended the Art Institute of Chicago and
the Art Student's League in New York City.
Convinced at a young age that I would never be
recognized as a famous artist because I am a woman,
    I became an art teacher.
Alfred Stieglitz, a famous photographer, was one of the
first people to show my work.
Later, I fell in love and married him in 1924.
We spent part of our year in New York and the other
part in New Mexico.
Years later after Alfred died, I moved to New Mexico
permanently and lived at my Ghost Ranch house and my
house in Abiquiu where I painted the stunning vistas
and stark landscapes that truly inspired my work!
I am also known for painting extreme close-ups of flowers
and animal skulls.
Do you know who I am?
