Second Grade

Earth Through Time is one of the second grade science topics so our already existing dinosaur unit with some additional links works well. The unit is followed up with Message in a Fossil, a CD fossil dig site where students dig up, identify and  label fossils, then create dioramas with their finds.

Students work with MicroSoft Dinosaurs and Kid Pix Studio Deluxe to research and create slides for a class slide show on dinosaurs. Each pair of students create three slides answering essential questions about their dinosaur. Dinosaur links are provided to classroom teachers to support their classroom work.
