Hello Onate community!  Box tops collections is well under way.  You have until Feb. 7 to get yours into your child's teacher for the next count.  There will be one last collection in May, so keep bringing them in.  Remember, your child's class gets fun rewards through the year depending on the number the class has collected.  If you would like a count to see if you are close to a prize level, please contact your teacher.  Each class has a parent volunteer counting the box tops.  The class with the most box tops for the year will receive a pizza party! Good Luck!
 
Tuesday, February 21st from 6-8 pm is our next Skate Night.  We are partnered with Acoma, so we will receive $2 per skater (that includes friends, parents, neighbors) and, of course, teacher’s skate free! 
 February 23
rd is our Annual Science Expo, so keep that fungi growing!

PLEASE use the sidewalks & cross walks!  We should not be crossing the street in the middle or walking thru the parking lot.  And please do not make U-turns in front of the school.  There have been accidents due to this behavior. 

Did you know .. the Jog-a-thon, carnivals, box tops, roller skating, the yearbook & other PTA sponsored functions provide playground balls for each classroom, funds for the health room & library, student prizes & field trips?
 
We will not have a PTA meeting in March, but please join us April 3rd at 6:30 pm in the Library for the election of officers.  We will need at least 3 individuals elected to have a PTA next year.  Please strongly consider joining the board or chairing one of next year’s events  .. such as the jog-a-thon, carnivals, yearbook, or even counting box tops for your child’s class.  There are many activities & fundraisers that go into our child’s education.  Many hands make light work and will enable us to continue to provide activities and funding for our students and teachers.  Without your commitment and input, we will need to scale back on next year's activities.
