NEWS: Dear Georgia O’Keeffe Families! Welcome to a new school year in our beautiful new school! I want to applaud our staff members for the hard work they have done to get the school and their classrooms ready for kids. There has been some confusion regarding dismissal. Please note the following: Parents of 1st and 2nd grade and siblings can meet their kids in front of the window that faces west on the courtyard. The 1st and 2nd grade teachers will walk the kids outside to meet you. 3rd, 4th and 5th grade kids, and all the kids who ride the bus can meet their parents on the playground. If your kids walk to school and are going east, they can go out the main entrance to the crossing guard. We do have a parent pick up and drop off that goes along the front of the school. That area is designed for quick drop off and pick up, not for parking and walking your child into the school. Just a reminder, our teachers do not get here until 8;40 and we do not have duty teachers until 8:45. Please do not bring your kids or leave them on the playground earlier, as we cannot supervise them. We are also concerned about being able to identify visitors in the building. SO, it is very important that you check into the office and get a visitors badge so we know who you are and that you belong on campus. We ask you wait until the bell rings, then bring your kids or child to their classroom. You have all been so patient, we are grateful and ask that you continue to be patient until we can get everything finished. The courtyard should be done in a couple of weeks. We have asked the landscapers not to run their machinery when children are present. We will have it open when the library and courtyard are done. Attendance Letter for Parents Georgia O'Keeffe has a first bell that rings at 8:54 am and a second bell that rings at 8:59 am. Students must be in their seats ready to learn at 8:59 am. Any student arriving later than 8:59 am is considered tardy and must report to the office get a pass. Each day that your student will be absent or late to school, please leave a message on the attendance line (293-4259, ext. 5) by 9:30 am. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday school is out at 3:46 pm. Wednesday is early dismissal day; school is out at 12:46 pm. Inclement Weather Schedule: On days that there is a 2 hour delay for inclement weather the first bell rings at 10:54 and the second bell rings at 10:59 am. School will let out at 3:46 pm.
