Georgia O'Keeffe Elementary School2011 - 2012 PBS Information
Our
school has been fortunate to receive training in Positive Behavioral Supports
through a grant funded in our district Health and Wellness Department.
You will see on this link the CORE Values for our school, as determined
through a collaborative process of decision making of our staff. “PBS”
looks at the school as a “system” and addresses expectations
for positive behavior throughout areas of our school where students may
congregate. We wrote lesson plans for behavioral expectations for the
playground, cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, bus stop and parent drop off.
On the first two days of school we took our kids to each of these areas
to teach them the kind of behavior we expect from them. Our kids have
been great at participating and this process has been helpful in making
sure our staff is consistent for redirecting behavior when needed. We have been excited to use our Positive Behavior Supports Program, we hope you can see the benefits as well! To view the PDF files, you need the Adobe Acrobat viewer, version 7.0
or later.
