Library Policies
McKinley's library/media center is a reflection of our students. The library is a place where all the students can be challenged and supported in their search for knowledge and success. The library has books that middle school students need to use for reports and projects as well as books that students like to read for fun. There are over 40 computers in McKinley's library.

McKinley students are encouraged to do research, prepare reports and projects on these computers. With the tools of the future, McKinley's library/media center brings the knowledge of the past and the present to the students at McKinley Middle School.

Library Procedures
The library at McKinley is open for book checkout from 8:00 to 3:10 every day that school is open. All students at McKinley are allowed to check out books with their student number. Students are allowed to check out up to four books at a time. Each book may be checked out for a two-week period, at which point the book can then be renewed for another two weeks.

All books are due back in the library by the due date stamped in the book. If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the student is required to pay for the book's replacement. Eighth graders will not receive a final report card if they owe any books to the library.
