
This winning 2001 RIF National Contest Poster was created by Shantal Giron, age 10, a student at East San Jose Elementary in Albuquerque. Barbara Lower, East San Jose Elementary librarian and RIF coordinator, sponsored the contest at the school level.

Library Media Services serves a community of 85,000+ students and 6000+ professional educators in the Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) district. APS Library Services supports 114 school libraries and five district libraries in all aspects of library management and information literacy program planning and delivery. We have maintained a district union catalog on computer since 1968 and completed automating all school library sites in 1998.
