About Our
Class Mrs. Barnhart is in her 21st year of teaching. Mrs. Donahue is close behind with 19 years to her credit. But they aren’t old. Really. Mrs. Carol is their right hand. The class would not run the same without her.

What we want for kids...
Of course our goal is to have our students excel in all academic areas. We work hard to enrich their skills through an active and engaging curriculum with lots of fun and games included. What cannot be measured by a standardized test or marking a box on a skill sheet is our desire for these children to be good citizens, friends, and learners. We want them to know their classmates names, take turns, tell a cohesive story, be responsible, and be kind to others. With new expectations of our youngest students arriving monthly, this is a tall order. We are passionate about looking at the “WHOLE” child and not simply focusing on skill sets. We want children to come to school happy and excited and leave feeling competent, smart and knowing that they belong.
This is our goal.

	•	Share everything.
	•	Play fair.
	•	Don't hit people.
	•	Put things back where you found them.
	•	Clean up your own mess.
	•	Don't take things that aren't yours.
	•	Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
	•	Wash your hands before you eat.
	•	Flush.
	•	Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
	•	Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
	•	Take a nap every afternoon.
	•	When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.
	•	Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
	•	Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.
	•	And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.

Shhhh
Geniuses
