STUDENT AIDES

It is important that the intent of the following course description be fulfilled when a student is an aide.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course provides the student with the opportunity to apply content specific skills in a career-related setting in an area of occupational interest while working under the direction of school personnel. This course gives students the opportunity to lean about and experience skills related to office, scientific, technological and tutorial careers.

STUDENT COMPETENCIES:

The student will:

-develop and apply appropriate oral/written communication.

-ask and answer questions coherently and concisely.

-use general and specific vocabularies appropriate to the task.

TASK:

-apply knowledge and skills to new/different situations.

-demonstrate the use of spoken and written language to suit different situations.

-use resources external to the classroom and incorporate knowledge from such sources to accomplish specific tasks.

-demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with others.

-make maximum and effective use of class time.
