SPONSORSHIP OF ORGANIZATIONS AND INTRAMURALS
All clubs and organizations affiliated with and approved by Eisenhower Middle School must have at least one faculty or staff sponsor.
All sponsors are responsible for the activities and conduct of the members of the organization which they sponsor during organizational activities. The duties of the sponsor vary with the type and size of the organization.
Acceptance of sponsorship implies assuming the responsibility of the organization , such as; attending all functions and supervising the activities.
We encourage all students and teachers to participate in school related activities outside the classroom. They provide opportunities to get to know students and teachers in a more relaxed and varied setting. To be able to offer such activities, the students need staff sponsors. Please read over the activities and identify the one(s) you would like to sponsor or help sponsor and notify the assistant principal in charge of activities. If you are asked to sponsor or help sponsor, consider the value of this opportunity for our students and you. A pay differential is currently available for club sponsors, however, these are limited.
INTRAMURALS
Eisenhower Intramural "General" News! from the Physical Education Department: Mr. Henry, Ms. Pino,
Mr. Kolkmeyer, Ms. Jacques.
The Eisenhower Physical Education Department provides lunchtime intramural activities for all interested students. Students may select to check out equipment (with proper I.D.) or participate in various tournaments or games that are scheduled throughout the year. Students are required to eat their lunches in the cafeteria or patio area before reporting to play areas (west of patio and music rooms).
The variety of activities provided depend upon facility availability and accommodation and, of course, the weather. Please realize regular P.E. classes that are in session at the same time will require priority in scheduling.
In the past, basketball, flag football, wall-ball, and soccer have been the most popular "elected" activities. Teams are generally made up by students organizing them on their own. Games are usually "self-officiated" with close teacher supervision. Tournaments are scheduled by the supervising teacher. Prize incentives will be provided, when appropriate.
