EQUIPMENT INVENTORY
State Statues require every local government entity to establish and maintain property/equipment records and adequate internal inventory controls. To comply, APS has established an inventory system for all equipment items costing, generally $500.00 or more. There are some theft sensitive items with a unit cost of $250.00 or greater, e.g. audio visual equipment, photographic equipment, calculators, typewriters, portable power tools, musical instruments, etc., also included in the inventory. In addition, each school is responsible for all other equipment and establishing a school numbering system.
Teacher/staff will do an inventory in the fall upon returning to school. If equipment has been lost during the summer, the loss will be declared and reported at that time. The regular inventory which is reported to Property Accounting is normally done in March/April.
In order to keep accurate records it is important that the office is informed if equipment is received, transferred, moved or junked. The form on the following page must be completed.
Some equipment can be checked out by the faculty. Please see the main office secretary for the necessary form. (APS Equipment Check-Out Form). This form must be completed and signed by the administration before the equipment leaves the school.
Classroom furniture (i.e. teacher's desk, student's desk, tables, chairs) is assigned to each classroom. Please do not remove, trade, or throw out furniture without administrative approval (see assistant principal in charge of building and grounds) and filling out the Equipment Movement Form on the following page.
EQUIPMENT AND CLASSROOM MAINTENANCE
It is extremely important that each classroom and all furniture be kept graffiti free.
Any repair needs to furniture, equipment, classroom and surrounding areas should be reported to the office secretary when noticed.
EVENING USE OF SCHOOL FACILITIES: See Building Use for additional information
When you want to use the school after hours, we would appreciate it if you would follow the following guidelines:
1. Schedule the facility through the main office secretary.
2. Make sure you talk to the night custodian who covers the particular area about your needs.
3. Let the office know when you want the school doors unlocked.
4. Monitor your students at all times. Please do not let them hang out in the upper halls.
5. Leave the area you are using in the same condition in which you found it. If you need plastic bags or cleaning equipment, make arrangements with a custodian.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN KEEPING OUR SCHOOL IN GOOD CONDITION.
