Discipline
![]()
Each teacher is responsible for the conduct of pupils under his or her jurisdiction. Whenever possible handle your own discipline. There are some important "don'ts" in regard to discipline that all teachers should keep in mind. 1. Do not resort to physical punishment (this is for your protection). 2. Do not send students into the hall or outside your room as a form of punishment. 3. Do not resort to arguing with a student about discipline. You have been provided with the discipline referral form for those rare occasions when it is absolutely necessary to send a student to the office. Please fill the forms out very carefully, especially your description of the violation or offense and, if necessary, or possible, arrange to accompany the student to the office. Do not write any remarks on the referral form you would not want the student and/or parent to see, as the forms might be snet home if a conference is desired. School community service, lunch detention and suspension can be assigned by administration only. A well disciplined school is one where adequate supervision exists throughout the school and communication exists among the staff, parents and students. Remember you are teaching middle school students, not adults. If you convey respect for them, they will respect you. STUDENT ON SUSPENSION PROGRAM RULES FOR STUDENT ON SUSPENSION 1.
