CAMPUS MAINTENANCE
It is everyone's job to keep our school in good condition. Please tell us about any needed repairs you see by placing these requests, as soon as possible, with the administrator in charge of building and grounds. Your assistance in helping students take responsibility for keeping our school clean will also be required. Food and drink should be consumed by the students in the classrooms only on special occasions. All "leftovers" should be removed from the room by students/teachers and placed in the outside trash bin. Special projects in the classroom should also be removed by the students/teachers and placed in the outside trash bin. Students should dispose of all trash in trash cans. Extra trash bags are stored in the workroom for your use.
CAMPUS SUPERVISION
It is the responsibility of all staff members to help supervise our students while they are on campus, including correcting student behavior as necessary.
It is necessary to be present promptly and consistently at your duty assignment. It is also imperative that you cover the area outside your teaching station during passing periods.
During class periods, your classroom must NEVER be left unattended.If you must leave for an emergency, please notify another teacher (usually your neighbor or team member) that you will be out and to please keep an eye on your classroom. Also, make sure your students understand that they are being supervised.
Please be prompt opening your classroom door in the morning and after lunch. Students should not be lingering outside the doors waiting for their teacher.
When fights between or among students occur on campus or at school-related activities, the staff is expected to intervene and do whatever is necessary to stop the confrontation and prevent injuries. This is within the scope of employment in a school. Any time employees act within the scope of their job, they are covered by workman's compensation and professional liability.
