SCIENCE COURSE EXPECTATIONS
Mr. Brügge
2007-2008
* You must have a composition notebook (9 3/4 X 7 1/2) for this class; you are not to use a regular spiral. It is only to contain work for this class. The textbook will be used, at most, two or three times this year, but your notebook will be used every day. You will be allowed to use your notebook on almost all quizzes.
* All entries in your notebook will follow a standard form. On the first line you are to write the title of the lesson and the date. Your notebook also should have your first and last name and period clearly written on the front cover. All the notes from the front board are to be copied into your notebook each and every day.
* The weekly schedule is posted every Monday. It's also on the web at: http://www.aps.edu/aps/Eisenhower/Brugge/Weekly.html. It will let you know what we did if you were absent. It will also inform you about upcoming quizzes, projects, and whether you need other supplies.
* If you are absent, it is your responsibility to copy another student's notes and check with Mr. Brügge about make-up work. If you miss a lab activity, you must talk to Mr. Brügge the first day of your return to schedule a make-up date or make-up assignment. Failing to arrange a make-up time or failing to show up for a scheduled make-up lab will result in a zero for that lab.
* Late work will be accepted only with the use of a homework pass. If you are absent from school, you have one day for each day of absence to turn in make-up work.
* You are expected to have a hand-held calculator with you every day--this year I want all students to have a TI-30X IIS or another calculator that has a two-line display. This course will require a fair amount of mathematical computation, and this calculator will make your work much easier.
* Please do not be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand. You are not expected to know everything about physical science--that is why you are in this class.
* All school policies regarding behavior will be followed. Each person in this room has a right and responsibility to learn. No one in this room has the right to keep others from learning. Any disruption, distraction, or misbehavior by a student robs the other students of learning time.
