Programs
  • Safe Arrival:This is a service to help us assure that our children arrive to school safely. PTA volunteers double check the daily attendance, and follow up all unexplained absences to assure that all students are accounted for, by calling the child's parents. We can all help the PTA with this important service by calling the office to excuse our children whenever they are going to be absent or delayed in their arrival to school more than an hour. Character Counts: This program is designed to reward children for showing characteristics of good character. These are outlined in the seven pillars of good character outlined by APS. Citizens Advisory Council: Citizens Advisory Council is a forum designed to bring parents and APS representatives together to discuss specific concerns. Double Eagle and the La Cueva Cluster is part of the Las Montanas Citizens Advisory Council, which includes Eldorado, Manzano, Del Norte, Highland and Sandia. All parents are welcome to attend Council meetings. Parents can also go to the APS website and sign up to be on a an e-mail list to get weekly updates from the Superintendent about what's going on in the District. You can also asked to be included on the School Board's e-mail list.
  • SRC: This is a forum for parents to discuss specific educational and curriculum issues with the staff representatives of Double Eagle.
Committees
  • Friends of the Library: A PTA representative to give feedback to the Double Eagle Library. Fine Arts: A committee designed to ensure that our children experience fine arts activities in their curriculum. Hospitality: The PTA shows our appreciation for our dedicated teaching staff by providing refreshments each month. This ranges from catered luncheons, to desserts, brunches etc. Social: The social committee sends condolences and is ready to offer assistance to families dealing with unexpected or stressful situations such as deaths or medical problems. We can help with meals, childcare, or whatever may be needed to help out.
  • Welcoming: PTA volunteers contact new families enrolling at Double Eagle to welcome them to our school
