In my spare time I enjoy traveling, scrap booking, dancing and spending time with my family and friends.

Why elementary School counselors?

Elementary school years set the tone of developing the knowledge, attitudes and skill necessary for children to become healthy, competent and confident learners. School counselors understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population. They design, develop implement and evaluate a Comprehensive School Counseling Program based on the needs of the students in the school. The program is proactive and preventative, developmentally appropriate, and essential for:

  • Children to have a better understanding of, and acceptance of themselves
  • Children to learn to cope with family changes.
  • Children to develop decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Children to develop socially and emotionally, to mature in their relations with others.
  • Children to be able to understand themselves in relation their own development
  • Assisting parent, teachers and administrators in understanding and meeting the needs of the children’s emotion, behaviors and learning styles.

School Counselors believe:

  • Children have dignity and worth as human beings
  • Children learn best when they feel good about themselves and their relationships with others
  • Children who understand their feelings are better able to control their behavior
  • Children are capable of making responsible choices
  • Attitudes formed during elementary school shape future attitudes toward learning, self and society.
