Homework

Homework is not meant to be a rigorous and stressful task but rather an enjoyable time to share school experience with family members at home and to practice what was learned in the classroom. Homework should not take more than 15 – 20 minutes. Homework will be handed out every Monday and will be due the following Monday. You will need to bring your backpack and homework folder EVERYDAY for important notes and for assignments.

Homework Folder
You need to give your homework folder to your parents EVERYDAY. Make sure they initial your folder after they take out all the newsletters and notices.

Animated Alphabet

Retell the character’s story and teach the song and gesture.

Fast Start

Read the assigned poem with your child, followed by a brief skill-building activity

Nightly Reading Log
Reading with your child aids in their reading development. Research shows that children become better readers when their parents read to/with them frequently. I consider nightly reading the most important part of homework. Please help your child record the title, author, and reader of each book on the nightly reading log.

On occasion, homework may vary according to our thematic unit and may include additional projects.
