Comanche PTA Board Meeting

Meeting called to order 9:15

Minutes from January board meeting were handed out and Lori moved to approve the minutes and Shelly seconded.

Box tops will be done by someone else next year and Margie says they still don’t show anything from last year. She will ask Michelle Taylor if she can get a copy of the submission.

Jeni and Shelly don’t have anything but nominating committee and getting board members and committee chairs. The committee will be Jean Hollowwa, Patty Gibbon, and Christy Trussell. Let Jeni know if you know anyone who wants to be a board member or committee member.

Principal’s Report – Rosa fell last week. Inclement weather plan so she doesn’t have to do it all herself. Snow day and school is cancelled have some people come around 2:00pm to get ready for the next day. Get together a phone tree of people to help and if you’re available come help make campus safe for the following day. Rena would start the tree by calling the presidents and then they could call a few other people. Send out a PTA email of those who want to be on the list. Have a list at Meet your Teacher. Maybe a time commitment would be about an hour. Shade structure will go up in April. The circuit equipment is coming up through a grant from Lowe’s and Saucony. Northside of field in a square. There will be six pieces of equipment with signs. Heath will incorporate into Wellness. Installation 6-8 weeks.

Mrs. Baca and the teachers say thanks for the soup. Brooke and the staff appreciation committee get kudos again for a job well done!

Treasurer’s report same as last time.

Lisa DiGregorio is going to get a date set to get going on Art/Dessert Night. Maxine is still doing ANSC and it is in between right now, but will need to do another push in March. Will get in the Communicator before the next one. Discussion about whether or not it is ok with us cooking since it isn’t the students. Science Expo breakfast cooking will be the morning of February 13th.

Class pictures are tomorrow and Jean has it set. Book Fair is coming up and it will be in the library starting March 3rd-7th. Evening conferences are March 4th. Buy one get one free book fair is usually April and May. We didn’t do it last year but maybe could this year?

Christy Maes is February 19th and it will be all day. Flyers will go out and it will go in the Communicator for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Bring in the flyer and we can keep track. It will be 10% or 20% we need to find out for sure. Next General Membership PTA meeting February 12 at 7pm and next board meeting is March 6th.
