students of What's up: Comanche Art-Dessert Night What?: Art Education Celebration & Fundraiser What else?: Desserts, Kid Art, Performances, Silent Auction, and Children's Raffle When: May 9, 2008, 6-8:30 pm Where: 3505 Pennsylvania NE Why: To brag about and support art and music education for kids Cost: Free admission Art education is more than learning to draw in the lines; it’s the study of creativity, mechanics and culture. The Albuquerque Public School system has committed to providing art and music education, but funds are limited and so is teaching time. Through its Art-Dessert night, the PTA hopes to fund next year’s expenses for art supplies and training materials to continue opening children’s hearts and minds and to nourish their creativity and imagination. Comanche Elementary School’s PTA is a nonprofit, 501(c) 3 organization. |
