Dear parents and families,
Thank you for visiting out website at Armijo
Elementary. We are working hard to improve the quality of education and
programs for the children and families at Armijo. The last couple of years
we have made many changes to the physical grounds including developing a
new parking lot and 12 new classrooms for our
intermediate grades. We also have an exemplary bookroom that provides
tremendous resources for our staff and students.
We have also worked hard at getting grants to
benefit the students and families at Armijo.
We have just finished our CSR grant that has
enabled us to provide training in the Baldrige model of Continuous Improvement
for our staff. We are looking at data as a school to make planned continuous
improvements at Armijo. In February, we were honored to be utilized as a
demonstration site for Baldrige and 60 educators came to visit our classrooms.
We have many dedicated parents and staff at
Armijo. Thanks to our dedicated staff, community and parents we are able
to provide after school programs through our 21st Century Grant such as
tutoring, Ballet Folklorico, Computer training, Las Latinas dance group, Razzle
Dazzle and our many after school sports programs. Our PTO is working hard
at fundraising and assisting the school in many needed projects. Please
attend our PTO meeting and volunteer to help. Together, with parents, we
can do more for the students.
Attendance and safety of children have also
been focus areas for us at Armijo. Our Mediation program and Student
Council have been beneficial in instilling positive behavior.
It is our commitment to provide a high quality
education for your children at Armijo.
Working together, we will accomplish our goals.
