Welcome to the Special Education Services Page!!!

Our mission is to provide quality and timely services to all students.

Our goal is to be 100% in compliance with due dates of annual review IEP’s and reevaluations, measured by the use of the APS Quality Assurance screen weekly.

At Adobe Acres Elementary School, Special Education is a service, not a place.

We are all here for all children and offer a continuum of services to provide for the needs of our special education students. Our continuum includes: A-level monitor services, B-level resource room services, C-level services, a full inclusion kinder D program, a primary D-level classroom, an intermediate D-level classroom, B-level gifted services, a C-level GT Quest program, 1.5 speech and language therapists, adaptive PE, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, and 3.5 educational assistants.

Standards are addressed through student IEP’s and least restrictive environment services are provided/standards addressed in regular education through IEP modifications. All of our special education students are mainstreamed for physical education, library, lunch, computer lab, music and recess.

Our mission is to provide timely and quality services and evaluations for all students. We keep a master calendar of all our Annual IEP and Reevaluation due dates as well as use the Quality Assurance screen to facilitate/monitor progress towards these goals. IEP meetings are held a week before the annual due date and reevaluations begun a month before the due date as best practices. Monthly special education department meetings are held to facilitate communication and collaboration.

Student progress towards goals on the IEP is sent to parents every nine weeks along with the student’s report card. Students also collect data about progress towards their goals kept in data folders in their classrooms.
