Dear APS Community Member,

By now, school employees are out for spring break, but I wanted to wish everyone a restful week and safe travels, if you’re leaving town. Spend time with your families and do something fun, and rest up for the final push of the school year.

We have eight very full weeks left. I know everyone is thinking about next year’s budget, but we all need to step back and not worry about it for a week. There are no plans for any layoffs. Principals have access to specific information for their schools starting today, but I have told them they shouldn’t feel obligated to look at it until next Monday.

We should feel good about what we’ve accomplished this year. There is a lot of work yet to do, but I’m pleased with our progress.

Have a great break.

Sincerely,

Winston Brooks
Superintendent
