Superintendent Books is pleased to announce the selection of June Pederson-Trujillo as the new Principal at Marie M. Hughes Elementary School.

Ms. Pederson-Trujillo holds a Bachelor of Science in Family and Childhood Development from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Master of Arts in Education from New Mexico Highlands University.

Ms. Pederson-Trujillo returned to the Albuquerque Public School District in 2008 as the Assistant Principal at Adobe Acres Elementary School. She has served the los Lunas School District as an Assistant Principal at Los Lunas Middle School and as a Principal at Daniel Fernandez Intermediate School and Peralta Elementary School. Ms. Pederson-Trujillo served APS between 1987 and 1989 as a Special Education teacher at Navajo Elementary School.
