I.02 Instructional School Year Calendar - August 2012 Revision

The superintendent, or his/her designee, shall present work calendars and pay schedules for employee groups annually to the Board of Education for review, amendment and approval.

The superintendent, or his/her designee, shall annually convene a committee of parents, community partners, teachers, representatives of employee groups and school and district administrators to develop recommendations for the official instructional school year calendar.  The recommendations shall comply with federal and state statute and law and regulation, Albuquerque Public Schools work calendars and pay schedules and all negotiated agreements between Albuquerque Public Schools and its employee groups.

The superintendent, or his/her designee, shall present the committee’s recommendations for instructional school year calendar annually to the Board of Education for review, amendment and approval.

The Board of Education reserves the right and authority to change the adopted instructional school year calendar during the school year if it is in the best interest of the district.
