G.07 Annual Leave And Holidays - December 2010 Revision
Twelve (12) month employees at the professional level shall be on duty from July 1 through June 30 and shall be entitled to twenty-two (22) working days of annual leave which may accumulate to a total of sixty-six (66) days including the current year. A professional employee who terminates shall be paid for all earned leave; however, payment for earned leave shall not exceed twenty-two (22) days.
Classified employees who work full time shall be entitled to periods of annual leave ranging from ten (10) to twenty-two (22) working days per year depending upon the length of service with the Albuquerque Public Schools. Annual leave may accumulate to a total of sixty-six (66) days of earned vacation.
If a classified employee terminates, the classified employee shall be paid for all earned annual leave time; however, payments for earned leave shall not exceed twenty-two (22) days' salary. No classified employee shall be paid for annual leave upon termination before completing six (6) months of employment.
Annual and/or Personal Leave Donation
Effective January 1, 2011, Albuquerque Public Schools personnel who are not members of or protected by a negotiated agreement may donate, upon appropriate approval, annual and/or personal leave hours to another district employee who is not a member of or protected by a negotiated agreement and who has exhausted their annual, sick and personal leave in the event of a catastrophic illness or injury of the employee or the employee’s immediate family member. The superintendent shall develop administrative procedural directive to further clarify and implement this donation.
The Board of Education shall annually identify recognized holidays.
