D.08 Capital Leaser Obligations - March 2009 Revision

Note: This policy was reviewed and moved in June 2012. We provide this revision for historic purposes only. Please refer to the current policy.

The Board of Education encourages the use of lease purchase arrangements pursuant to 2006 Constitutional Amendment, Article 9, Section 11, Subsection D, and Section 22-26A-1 et seq. NMSA 1978 when such financing method is beneficial to the School District or on an approved charter. The Board of Education directs the Superintendent of the Albuquerque Public Schools to institute a procedural directive that reflects the important role of lease purchase arrangements and facilitates entering into and financing the retirement of capital lease obligations.
