B.15.A Board Member Per Diem

Board members shall be entitled to receive per diem of up to $85.00 pursuant to the Per Diem and Mileage Act (1978 NMSA §10-8-4.A et.seq.) and any applicable state regulations interpreting or implementing that Act. The amount of per diem and mileage paid for attendance at meetings or for other activities for which per diem and mileage are allowed shall be the maximum amount set forth in the Per Diem and Mileage Act and any applicable state regulations, unless the Board shall by resolution provide for a lower amount. The Board may also by resolution specify the types of activities for which per diem may be received, provided that such specification may not include any activities for which per diem and mileage would not be permitted by the Per Diem and Mileage Act or applicable state regulations interpreting or implementing that Act.

Per diem will be paid for attendance at meetings of the Board and meetings of Board Standing Committees of which the board member seeking reimbursement is a member.

Board member per diem under this section is subject to taxation rules stipulated by the Internal Revenue Service and/or the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department.
