Legislative Update - Monday, January 24

During the New Mexico Legislative Session today, the state Senate announced the members of the Senate Education Committee. The lone new member is from Albuquerque.

In other news, the House Education Committee met with the Senate Education Committee to hear an update on ERB and Retiree Health Care in a three-hour session.  No action was taken.

Also, APS will present a request for extra insurance funding at 8 a.m. Wednesday.  The district is requesting nearly $4 million to help offset the employer’s share of continually-increasing  insurance premiums. Increases in co-pays have already been passed along to APS employees. Review the request >>
