Paul Romero

Paul Romero is the Chief Technology Officer for the district.  He brings a wealth of knowledge in Educational Technology and has a passion for innovation and excellence in schools. Even though Paul is leading the technology efforts for Albuquerque Public Schools, he'll always consider himself an educator first.  He has been in education all his career and has served in the following capacities:  Teacher of music, Academic Dean, Associate Superintendent, and Chief Technology Officer.

Paul's vision has been that of engagement and academic success for every student.  He has witnessed the power of technology and the impact that can be made in the classroom when students are empowered and engaged. Paul frequently shares his experiences with many school districts across the nation and has been fortunate to be recognized in his field by his peers and industry.

Paul currently oversees Technology at Albuquerque Public Schools, including:

  • Edge Services
  • Learning Technologies and,
  • Telephony

APS Test Scores Improve
The average gain was 3.5 percentage points in English/language arts and 1.6 percentage points in math.
Back to School in July for Several APS Schools
Hawthorne, Los Padillas and Whittier start school on July 30. The first day of school for eight elementaries that follow an alternative calendar is July 23.
