APS Board of Education Re-elects Officers

March 4, 2010

The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education re-elected its current officers to serve another year in their current positions.

In a unanimous vote at its Wednesday night meeting, the board decided to keep its current officers — Marty Esquivel as president, Paula Maes as vice-president and Dolores Griego as secretary.

Esquivel said the decision was an indication of a well-functioning board.

The board members also decided to keep current committee chairpersons in their positions for another year:

  • Lorenzo Garcia will continue as chair of the district relations committee.
  • Robert Lucero will continue as chair of the capital outlay committee.
  • David Peercy will continue as chair of the policy and instruction committee.
  • David Robbins will continue in that capacity for the finance committee.
