Voter Registration
Anyone with questions on voter registration issues is encouraged to visit the Bernalillo County Clerk’s web site for more information and resources.

Deadlines

Board Candidate Filing Deadline – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010 is the deadline to file paperwork for the District 1, 2 or 4 board candidate position with Bernalillo County Clerk. Potential candidates must fill out the form, notarize the form, and then file the form with the Bernalillo County Clerk.

Last Day to Withdraw as a Candidate – before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Must file with the County Clerk’s Office.

Declaration of Intent to be a Write-in Candidate – before 5:00 p.m., December 28, 2010. Must file with the County Clerk’s Office.

Be Registered to Vote – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 4 is the deadline to register to vote in the school board election. Must file with the County Clerk’s Office.

Absentee Ballots – Voters may request absentee ballots from Monday, December 13, 2010 through Friday, January 28, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. See this document for more details.

Early Voting – 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011 and continuing on Tuesday to Saturday until January 22, 2011. See this document for locations.

Questionnaire Deadline – 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 is the deadline for all candidates to turn in the APS Questionnaire for Board of Education Candidates. Questionnaire available online with details for submission.

Deadlines to File Pre-Election Disclosure – 4:00 p.m. January 10, 2011 and February 1, 2011. Form available online with details for submission.

Election Day – Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Know where you vote by checking the Consolidated Polling Locations information.

Thursday, January 6, 2011 – School Board Candidate Orientation, 6:00-7:00 p.m. DeLayo-Martin Conference Room (includes presentation by Joe Guillen, executive director, New Mexico School Boards Association and reminders for deadlines).

Thursday, January 13, 2011 – School Board Candidate APS-sponsored forum, 6:00-8:00 p.m. John Milne Community Board Room.
