Student Dress Code

THIS UNIFORM DRESS POLICY WILL APPLY TO:

All students, except where there is specific instructional, safety, religious, or medical reasons.

 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

bullet

No gang-related clothing

bullet

No chains or spiked jewelry

bullet

No sunglasses, hairnets, hats, caps or bandanas

bullet

No clothing or accessories which promote negative behavior (profanity, violence, sex, drugs, alcohol, bigotry, disrespect) or that is highly distractive, disruptive or immodest.

 PANTS:

bullet

Solid Khaki and Navy Blue, cotton blend or Docker style pants only

bullet

No stretch or baggy pants

bullet

Fitted at the waist

bullet

No outside pockets (cargo pants or stripes)

bullet

No denim or corduroy

bullet

No capris or Bermudas

bullet

No overall or one piece jump suits

SHOES:

bullet

No flip-flop, sandals or open toe shoes

SHORTS/SKIRTS

bullet

No shorts or skirts of any kind are allowed

 

SHIRTS:

      

bullet

POLO STYLE ONLY (collared with buttons)

bullet

Solid colors only:  white, black, hunter green, dark blue, light blue

bullet

Must be tucked into pants

bullet

Short or long sleeve polo only, no sleeveless

 UNDERSHIRTS:

bullet

Solid white ONLY

bullet

Tucked in to pants

SWEATSHIRTS/SWEATERS:

 

bullet

Only uniform solid color sweatshirts without hoods may be worn over legal polo shirt

JACKETS:

bullet

Must have a zipper in front, no hoodies

bullet

Any New Mexico sport team will be allowed (Lobos, Aggies, etc.)

bullet

No professional or college sport teams are allowed

 

 STUDENTS AND GUARDIANS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO BE AWARE OF THE DRESS POLICY AND ABIDE BY IT AT ALL TIMES.

 THE ADMINISTRATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO INTERPRET AND MODIFY THE DRESS POLICY.  ALL ADMINISTRATIVE DECISIONS ARE FINAL.

 CONSEQUENCES

The consequences for not following the uniform dress policy will be the following:

-         Noted on accountability card

bullet

      Parent notified for change of clothes

bullet

      Chronic or major violations will result in suspension or possible district hearing

 

FRIDAYS:

bullet

Students with perfect attendance may wear jeans with a uniform shirt tucked in to pants on Fridays.
